Dear Ms. Carin, VES President, and PALS,
The 2020-2021 Academic Year is a school year with many natural disasters and epidemics. Anyway, it is a happy, meaningful school year as the kids of Vang hamlet – Batang kindergarten has received good financial support from PALS and Ms. Carin, VES President, to build a new two-classroom kindergarten, a new kitchen and lunches. On behalf of their parents, I would like to express our gratitude to Ms. Carin, VES President, and PALS.
This year and the following years, all children here are taught in a new safe school like other children at the same age in other regions of Vietnam. Significantly, the kids from 3 to 5 years old have nutritious lunches to reduce the very high malnutrition rate among children in this challenging remote area.
Once again, I would like to appreciate what Ms. Carin, the VES president and PALS, have done for our school with your love, care, and continued support.
Warm regards,
Principal

They have had delicious lunches, full of nutrients, ensured hygiene that helped children enhance their weight, height, intelligence. All come from LOVE and SHARING that Ms. Carin and other good donors brings to ethnic minority kids in this remote, poor area. My name is Duong Thi Trang. I am 10 years old. I am in grade 4A at Cat Ne. When we were in the old school, we did not dare to wish for a new school like this. Thank to Mr. Ron and Mrs. Carin, our dream comes true. We are very thankful and happy to be here. We are even happier to see that we have ceiling fans, new desks and chairs, and drinking water dispenser, and more. You don't know how happy we are. And this year, my mom even bought me new clothes and all the school supplies.
Do you know that our homeland is very beautiful? Right now is almost the season of harvesting rice. Everywhere we go, rice fields are spreading forever. Do you have rice fields in Canada? If you plant rice over there, I am sure it would beautiful like over here too. After rice season, then we harvest Ngo. After Ngo, we harvest sweet potatoes..
And now, I wish that people like Mr. Ron, Mrs. Carin, and generous people continued to help another poor village like ours to provide schools for other children. I also wish them best luck and good health and happiness in life.

On behalf of teachers and students in Cat Ne kindergarten, I would like to say thank you to EMW staffs and donors. We appreciate your special support through lunch project for kids that reduces the cost burden on their family, lights up their belief and keeps our kids doing well at school. For great EMW staff such as Mr Tung, Mr Anh; they are devoted to kids and willing to give timely supports for us. Their responsibility and enthusiasm make us so touched. We received not only material supplies but also donor Carin and EMW staffs’ love and attention according to their school visits. We are so happy for that.
We hope Ms. Carin and all EMW staff, especially Mr. Tung with good health, success and happiness.

My name is Nguyen Thi Hong. I am a student at Cat Ne. I am in grade 5B. My interest is making friends from all the over the world.
My old school was very poor lacking all the conditions, unlike other better schools. Thanks to the generous people in Canada and the Viet Kieu who had made it happen. They built 2 blocks of classrooms. Now we study better. We promise to study hard.. I'd like to introduce my family. We are 5 people, my dad, mom, my two sisters, and myself. My parents had invested all the energy into our education. Life is difficult. We live by working at the fields harvesting rice and teas. My parents have to raise 3 of us, therefore, they hope that we become good students. I only want to tell you briefly about my family. Now I want to know about you. What does it look like over there where you live? What are your parents do for living? I just can't imagine it. In your past year, did you get an award from your teacher? When you get this letter, would you please write back and tell me about your school? Can you tell me about your neighborhood, your family, and your friends?
