About the community
Bù hamlet is one of the poorest of the eight hamlets that make up Tân Lập Commune in Hướng Hóa District of Quảng Trị province. Bù hamlet has approximately 500 people, the majority of whom are are ethnic Bru Van Kieu and make their living from agriculture.
Helping the children succeed
The new large classroom with washrooms, a storage area, fans and lighting has allowed for the education of approximately 30 3-6 year old children who were previously unable to attend kindergarten due to a lack of classroom space.
Funding & construction
Construction of Bù kindergarten in Tân Lập Commune was completed in the summer of 2021. A kitchen for the kindergarten was completed in 2023. Thank you Ptarmigan Foundation! VES also funded repairs to the other Bù kindergarten classrooms. The kitchen supplies, cots and blankets seen in the photos were supplied by VES.
